Mi Casas
Mi Casas at UBC are designed to create a safe place, in a small group, at the home of a UBC'er for people to experience the Christian life within community together. Mi Casas meet once a week, share their stories, and become family to each other. If you would like to be placed in a Mi Casa, email craig@ubcwaco.org or sign-up on Sunday morning!
Midweek Communion, Worship and Reflection
Wednesdays at 5:30pm @UBC
On Wednesdays our weekly gathering will be a more simple, reflective (and short) time together. We will sing a couple of songs, hear readings from Scripture and devotional authors, spend time in prayer and reflection, and then participate in communion. The church will continue to be open for other groups after our time together, so feel free to linger with each other or go grab dinner together.
Location: The White Room.
Women & Men's Bible Study
Wednesdays at 7:00pm @UBC
In the spring we will have a Men's Bible Study and Women's Bible Study for students in college, who are wanting a time to study Scripture and form community with a group of friends. Although gender-specific issues will likely be discussed, these are not your typical "How to be a real man by watching Braveheart," and "How to be a real woman by learning how to cook" groups. Instead, they will both be a time to form community and to study Scripture in an environment where you can let your guard down and share freely.
Location: Men's Bible Study in The Rock-N-Roll Room
Women's Bible Study in The White Room
Pub Group
Wednesdays at 7:00pm @The Dancing Bear Pub (Must be 21 to attend)
We will get together weekly over a pint and talk about stuff. What does the Christian story have to offer the world? Who will (and should) win the presidential race in 2012? What about Occupy Wall Street? What about the Greek financial crisis? How do you express devotion to Jesus in your world? Will he or won’t he go to the NFL, and what team do you want him to play for when he finally does? Who should win the Oscar for best picture? These are the type of questions that will be asked, and all of them will be answered adequately and finally, rendering any further conversation unnecessary after the spring. (Yeah, right.)
Emerging Parents
Anyone with children is welcome; we will share a potluck dinner and childcare is provided. Each meeting we will discuss a different issue raised by our experiences. Topics in the past have been things like: discipline methods, at what age does your child get to ___, what does faith development look like for your child, etc.
Hitched
1st Wednesday of every month, 6:30 @UBC
If you're married but haven't crossed into the realm of diapers and daycare, this group is for you. Each meeting we share a potluck dinner and discuss a topic that affects our marriages. Topics in the past have been things like: merging of the families, merging of the finances, presumed and assumed gender roles, etc.
UBC Garden
Join us as we grow food to be distributed to our neighbors! Anyone is welcome, even if you do not (yet) have a green thumb.

Food Pantry
On the first Sunday of every month UBC collects nonperishable food items to split between our food pantry and the one at Cesar Chavez Middle School. A table will be set up in the foyer for your donations.
Clean Team
If you have any amount of time during your week, and would like to help keep our building clean and in order, we would LOVE your help. This is a good way to serve and get to know the church staff. (And to be asked 20 questions by Josh.)
